a clinical-radiological approach to pain diagnosis /[electronic resource] :edited by Maria Assunta Cova, Fulvio Stacul. - Cham :Springer International Publishing :2019. - xii, 498 p. :ill. (some col.), digital ;24 cm.
Preface -- Mechanisms of Pain -- Brain Imaging of Pain -- Headaches: Clinical Features -- Imaging of Headache -- Trigeminal Neuralgia: Clinical Features -- Imaging of Trigeminal Neuralgia -- Spine Pain: Clinical Features -- Imaging of Spine Pain -- Thoracic Pain: Clinical Features -- Imaging of Vascular Thoracic Pain -- Imaging of Non-Vascular Thoracic Pain -- Abdominal Pain: Clinical Features -- Imaging of Biliary Colic and Cholecystitis -- Imaging of Pancreatitis -- Imaging of Renal Colic -- Imaging of Pyelonephritis -- Imaging of Bowel Occlusion and Bowel Perforation -- Imaging of Inflammatory Bowel Disease -- Imaging of Vascular Abdominal Pain -- Pelvic Pain: clinical features -- Imaging of Uterine disease related Pain -- Imaging of Ovaric disease related Pain -- Imaging of Endometriosis related Pain -- Imaging of Acute Scrotum.
This book addresses all pain imaging aspects related to both the central nervous system and the body (thorax, abdomen and pelvis), thus updating the international literature on the topic. By adopting a clinical-radiological approach and offering a comprehensive differential diagnosis for a number of painful syndromes (many of which can mimic one other), the work aims to support and enhance the diagnostic management of these patients, suggesting the most appropriate diagnostic algorithm. The book is divided into separate sections for each anatomical macro-area, and the chapters cover the respective topics from both clinical and radiological perspectives. Further, the book includes extensive electronic supplementary material. As such, it offers an invaluable tool for radiologists, neuroradiologists and clinicians working in internal medicine, surgery and neurology, and could also be used in residency programs for these group.
