520 $a The ADAPT Project uses theory created out of the normative experiences of a person that successfully navigated the community starting as an inmate on work-release status, to being named the community's Outstanding Young Man of the Year, to a career at the top of the correctional system, to a return to the community to become the maestro that orchestrated a plan for St. Cloud to be an inclusive and welcoming community.
520 $a The method gained support and consensus from a significant aggregation of community people who hold and exercise a great deal of power and influence within the community. It represents a method to assist the disadvantaged, the oppressed, the victims or whatever label one chose to use to describe them, with a pathway out of the destructive habits of mind that have so trapped them for so many years.

The methodology embraces theory and practice that has been effectively used throughout modern history to negotiate win/win outcomes that equitably enhances the lives of all members of the community by giving to everyone and taking from no one.
