Jawhar, Tariq Omar.
The returning voice: Palestinian voices from the Occupied Territories.
- 76 p.
Adviser: David Graybeal.
Thesis (D.Litt.)--Drew University, 2006.
This is a creative dissertation done in the poetry genre. It attempts to shed light onto the suffering of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories. The poetry is based on actual events and people, and documentation is provided where additional information may be found as to the events therein. The dissertation is divided into three distinct sections: an introduction, which contains a brief biography of the poet and explains his invested interest in the subject matter; part one, which largely consists of Palestinian personas addressing themselves; and part two, where Palestinian personas consciously address an outside audience (mostly either Israelis or Americans).
