Thesis (M.A.)--Roosevelt University, 2006.
Seventy-one undergraduate students from a fine arts school in Chicago, IL participated in a study investigating birth order and earliest childhood memories. Participants completed a questionnaire containing 21 items regarding their birth order, gender, age at which they had their earliest childhood memory, and the quality of the earliest childhood memory. Five hypotheses were tested, and moderate support was found for one: The age of the earliest childhood memory was found to be related to a participant's birth order, with middle-born participants reporting a significantly later age of the earliest memory than first-born participants (p = .03).
