This is an overview of Claude Gordon's pedagogical output and an analysis of the Systematic Approach to Daily Practice. This study focuses on the professional career of Claude Gordon as a trumpet artist, an accordion player, an educator, and a trumpet designer. His teacher, Herbert L. Clarke, influenced Claude Gordon and Claude expanded upon the methodologies of Clarke. Gordon was a pivotal trumpet pedagogue of the Twentieth Century, as evidenced by his six published and three unpublished method books. He founded an annual summer camp for brass musicians.
