This research project explores the potential benefits the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) provides as increased levels of individual and collective awareness of type preferences are achieved. The researcher explored whether the perceived levels of personnel relations and effectiveness improved according to project participants. Three relevant topics explored through literature review process include: (a) organizations and change, (b) team building, and (c) teaching and learning. Additionally, the research seeks to determine any predictability of the type of work environment research participants preferred in relation to their own MBTI types. Subjects for the project were members of a dynamic team involved in providing comprehensive computer services and technical training within a post-secondary learning milieu. The perceived effectiveness of the action research process in team building, using the MBTI as a fundamental tool, was evaluated.
