The purpose of this study was to survey professional music therapists (N=75) working with individuals who have a history of abuse/neglect to determine the following: (1) how are music therapy services funded, (2) does funding source influence service delivery structure, (3) what are characteristic features of facilities that offer music therapy services, and (4) what are characteristic features of music therapy programs serving abused/neglected individuals. Data were collected on 65 surveys for a response rate of 37%. Descriptive statistics were used to report data. Survey results indicate a wide range of funding sources with some sources appearing to influence service delivery structure. Results also indicate a large percentage of facilities are supportive of research and provide a variety of related services. Respondents provide services most often in large group settings, and frequency of service varies and appears to be influenced by clientele and facility structure.
