Thesis (Ph.D.)--Touro University International, 2007.
Psychological contract research is gaining popularity among organizational research scholars. Organizations frequently rely on contracts as a binding agreement between the employer and employee. The psychological contract is an unwritten expectation mutually held by both parties in the employment relationship. Because this construct can have a significant influence on the employment relationship, it is imperative that further investigation into the theory is conducted.

The dissertation examined antecedents that affect the employees' psychological contract (PC) perception in organizations. Of particular importance, factors including perceived organizational support (POS), organizational commitment, job satisfaction, the leader member exchange, and trust were examined. This research determined that each of the above-mentioned independent variables is positively related to the perception of psychological contract fairness (PCF).
