This study is a secondary data analysis from intake assessments from 75 adult Latino mental health clients. Information was extracted from intake assessments from Latino Psychological & Social Services. Assessments were gathered from 2 sites, Santa Ana and Anaheim, California. The sample varied in demographics, diagnosis, drug dependency, convictions, family involvement, and abuse.

520 $a Results indicated that the majority of clients who seek mental health services are dependent of family contributions (37.3%), Mexican (74.7%), Spanish speaking (88%), married (33.3%), and diagnosed with depression (37.3%). It was found that 14.7% reported current drug use and 32% reported past drug use. A minimal amount of clients reported being convicted (17.3%). Results showed that there was a significant relationship between clients with a past history of drug use and clients with a conviction. The majority of clients reported experiencing a form of abuse (50.7%) and the most predominate form of abuse was sexual (34.7%).
