The purpose of this project was to explore the issues of teenage pregnancy and its impact through a narrative format. Literature was reviewed about teenage pregnancy and its stigmatization in today's society. Also, existing narratives were reviewed for the significance of narrative writing to social relevance in a scholarly fashion. The narrative incorporates the author's struggles and conflicts as a teenage parent and how her life evolved as a result of existing stigma. The author hopes that the evolution of her struggles and her resolution and insight will cause heightened awareness and empowerment within the social work profession. The author's experiences and relation of her personal narrative were explored. The implications to social work practice were examined and discussed.Subjects--Topical Terms:
