This report highlights flaws in current small-scale historical museum methods in regards to civic education and their potential effects on policy decision-making. Two case studies are presented to illustrate possible messages encoded within display that are transferred during the process of cultural production taking place within these museums. I offer recommendations, based on a cross-disciplinary methodology, to address inaccuracies and inclusion in future museum and cultural heritage policy as well as call for more research into the process at work.
