The purpose of this project is to provide the seasonal snowboarder with a sport specific 8 week training program for prevention of injury due to fatigue. The detrimental effect of fatigue on neuromuscular function and sport performance is well documented. Review of literature fails to reveal data directly relating fatigue to injury during snowboarding, although great deal of anecdotal evidence supports this hypothesis. There is also a lack of sport specific training program for the beginner and intermediate snowboarder even though studies suggest that beginners are at the highest risk for injury.Subjects--Topical Terms:

This project will provide the reader with a general overview of musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, bioenergetic, and biomechanical aspects of snowboarding. After review of training program theory and principles, their relationship to snowboarding will be discussed. The trainee will be provided with a detailed 8 week exercise program to meet training goals.
