Thesis (D.B.A.)--Northcentral University, 2008.
The purpose of this study was to examine information security knowledge among technology staff at ACCD. To examine knowledge, test scores from the COMPTIA Security+ examination between technology staff and information security students were compared to test for statistically significant differences in means. By testing students, ACCD technology leaders could determine if staff required training similar to the coursework students undertake. A quantitative-comparative methodology was used to randomly select 90 participants from 156 information technology staff and 131 information security students to participate in the examination. Between-subjects ANOVAs were used to test for differences in means between staff and students. The ANOVA analysis showed that the mean scores and mean percentages of 76% or higher for students were statistically significantly higher compared to staff. However, the results from the ANOVA indicate no statistically significant difference existed in means on the examination between staff and students based on months of job experience in information technology.
