Two works were produced and choreographed by the candidate (<italic> Urban Purgatory</italic>, five minutes; <italic>Dreamscape</italic>, five minutes), followed by two student works supervised by the candidate (<italic> Contending Exuberance</italic>, three minutes; <italic>Broken Wing</italic>, three minutes). The project included a costume and a lighting design.

<italic>Urban Purgatory</italic> (2000) was a dance about the tensions of contemporary life. Modern dance vocabulary was used throughout the piece. For <italic>Dreamscape</italic> (2000) a study of Rodin sculptures was utilized to create a unique vocabulary derived from modern dance and ballet.

Student choreographed work <italic>Contending Exuberance</italic> (2000) included modern and jazz techniques in combination with multi media effects. <italic> Broken Wing</italic> (2000), a student choreographed trio, reflected modern ballet techniques.
