This paper will investigate how to design a better low note tone generator through the use acoustical equivalent circuit theory. The concepts of using electrical circuit theory applied to cross-domain systems has been used for many years. This concept, as it is applied to acoustical systems, will be presented along with developing equivalent circuits for three different types of loudspeaker enclosures. From these circuits, and the use of Thiele-Small parameters from loudspeaker driver's datasheets, systems of each of the three enclosure types were designed. From this step, a low note tone generator was designed by the use of three Fortran programs for a Sealed System, a Vented System, and a Bandpass System. These systems were compared against a commercially available low note tone generator that a local organ builder currently uses. From this design work, two generators were designed that are smaller in size, and produce better acoustical results than what our organ builder currently purchases. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)
