The goal of this study was to determine if a computer-based interactive tutorial entitled <italic>Paintings and Palettes</italic> could significantly increase knowledge of color theory and the uses of color in art. Participants in the study included forty adult employees at an elementary school. An analysis of pretest and posttest scores indicated that the tutorial program was effective in improving knowledge of color theory concepts. A review of current theory and research about the effects of computer-assisted instruction in the field of art education is provided.
