Chopin (1810–1849) was born in Zelazowa Wola, Poland of a Polish mother and a French father. When Chopin died in Paris, France on October 17, 1849 he had transcended the limitations of his incidence of birth and ancestry, in spite of all superficial appearances and national fervor. He died a naturalized Frenchman and a citizen of the world. Nonetheless, it entered the music literature that Chopin had no interest or influence in any culture that did not come from Poland.

The study attempts to demonstrate that Chopin overcame the separation of music and its concords between east and west. He also juxtaposed the aesthetics of his temporal art with the spatial arts in a subtle manner that did not infringe on reasonable viability. Moreover, he was able to transform the voice of the vocal cords into a percussive instrument that uses a hammer to produce the elements of its sound through his influence with opera. The impact of the literary culture on Chopin is discussed through his ballades and nocturnes. Furthermore, Chopin's inspiration in the aesthetics of the visual arts is maintained through his conversations and influence with Delacroix.

The PDE takes a chronological and geographical progression of influences that ranged from early music of the Eastern Church along with the music of the Jewish rites and Islamic cultures to the Baroque composers, the classical masters, and his operatic and instrumental contemporaries. It is by exposing these cross-influences that this project makes the case for Chopin, the inter-cultural composer.

Musicologists created a legend out of Chopin, the nationalist composer and therefore minimized the importance of his giant leaps across cultures and undermined the proper interpretation of his music in performance practice. Therefore, this project determines that Chopin's music stood the test of time as it transgressed the limits of national boundaries. The universality of his musical language brought people of diverse background together in contemplation of the indivisibility of humankind.
