Thesis (M.S.)--Long Island University, The Brooklyn Center, 2009.
This thesis presents an in-depth survey and analysis for the use of RFID technology in today's E-business, in retail stores, and in B2B supply chains. Using RFID technology in Supply Chain Management (SCM) is still in an early stage. In this thesis, we are trying to provide a complete survey on where this technology currently stands. We first provide an overview of RFID technology including tags, readers, and antennas, and how they work together to present a complete system. We then discuss in detail the components, terminologies and examples for the RFD) use in retail stores and B2B supply chains. From the generality and simplicity of the implementation in these two areas, we demonstrate the possibility of customizing the RFID systems to other fields.

In this thesis, we particularly survey the current trends of RFID in Supply Chain Management and present a comprehensive case for a Bicycle Manufacturing company that successfully incorporated the RFID technology in its B2B supply chains. Also, we addressed the up-to-date solutions for the privacy and Security concerns related to adopting and expanding of RFID in retail stores and B2B supply chains. Finally, we present an advisory expert system development for RFID in B2B. The developed Expert system can be used by corporation executives, decision makers, analysts, and investors to gather useful information for planning their businesses using RFID in Supply Chain Management.
