The next generation of nurses: Who will teach them?
- 117 p.
Adviser: Barbara Keener.
Thesis (Ph.D.)--Capella University, 2009.
The health care delivery system is experiencing a nursing shortage that has the potential to impact the health and well-being of current and future generations dramatically. Fundamental to alleviating the nursing shortage is the need to increase enrollment in nursing programs, placing additional demands on an already stressed nursing education infrastructure. It is imperative to deal with the issue of who will teach the next generation of nurses by not only scrutinizing but also transforming current nursing faculty recruitment and retention practices in schools of nursing.
