This thesis will examine the effects of the 1968 Tet Offensive on the pursuit and outcome of the Vietnam War. Advantages and disadvantages for the various participants will be examined, and changes in their positions or actions as a result of the Tet Offensive noted. The research is based primarily on sources including contemporary magazines, histories, and memoirs of Vietnam veterans. The conclusion is reached that while the Tet Offensive did have a huge effect on the Vietnam War, primarily through undermining the will of the American public to continue fighting, it was not the determining factor, and likely did not change the final outcome of the war.
