Thesis (Ph.D.)--Capella University, 2009.
This mixed methods study utilized a standardized survey, the Defining Issues Test (DIT2), paired with classroom observation to explore the question of the impact that a business ethics course has on student moral development. This study involved collecting data over the course of a semester from students enrolled in four business ethics courses at three religiously affiliated colleges in Northeast Iowa. Rest's Defining Issues Test 2 was administered at the beginning and end of the semester along with classroom observations throughout the term. Past studies on business ethics education have varied on conclusions researched; the same occurred in this study, although a litany of patterns that evolved from this research provides guideposts for future research.
