The purpose of this project was to develop a childhood obesity prevention program for elementary school children and their families, to find potential funding sources, and write a grant to implement the program. The program consisted of 4 components (1) student educational components, (2) parent educational component, (3) family physical activity component, and 4) student support group. The program if funded will be implemented at Barton Elementary School in Long Beach. The grant proposal will be submitted to the California Endowment.
