Findings and Conclusions. Based on the findings from this study, there are elements from hotel facility design that should be carefully considered when planning and designing a healthcare facility. Those items should be carefully considered based on the demographics of the healthcare facility. Frequency analyses showed that six items are were not cited as important in either hotel or healthcare facility: mini bar/refrigerator, desk, internet access, dining table, fitness facility and spa. Paired t--test analyses also showed that 17 items had significant differences among them: room size, comfortable lounge furniture, desk, internet access, lounge furniture, dining table, bedside tables, table lamps, light level control, bedding quality, soft carpeting, fitness facilities, dining options, snack, drink and ice machines and temperature control. Analysis of variance was performed to compare response differences among demographics. This analysis found there were no significant differences among the age groups. Within city population, two items reported significant differences: mini bar/refrigerator and soft carpeting. Responses analyzed by geographical region and education level each report one item with significant difference: lounge furniture and quality bedding, respectively. The final demographic group, annual income level reported eight items with significant differences: room size, mini bar/refrigerator, dining table, fitness facilities, spa, dining options and snack and drink machines.
