Paley, Anita M.
Implementation phase of the strategic planning process.
- 27 p.
Adviser: Joseph Angiello.
Thesis (M.A.)--State University of New York Empire State College, 2009.
The problems facing nonprofit organizations today are many. Nonprofit managers have been facing turbulent economic times. They encompass dwindling and unpredictable resources, increasingly uncertain and interconnected environments, new public expectations, and the necessity to create greater and more enduring public value.1 They are also being asked to be more accountable. Adapting strategic planning from the business sector has helped them address these issues. However, just as the business sector has struggled with the implementation of these plans, so have nonprofits. How nonprofits achieve effective strategic planning is the focus of this paper based on a practicum experience with a nonprofit organization.
