The purpose of this grant proposal project was to develop an educational and outreach program to increase utilization of mental health services among Filipino Americans, to identify potential funding sources, and to write a grant to fund the program. This grant will be used to develop culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate mental health educational materials and disseminate those materials around target locations. An extensive literature review was conducted to investigate barriers to seeking mental health services of Filipino Americans. A grant database search was conducted in order to find the most appropriate potential funding agency, focused on the mission of increasing mental health services to underrepresented groups. The grant may be submitted and implemented in Filipino American Service Group, Inc. (FASGI) that serves the Filipino American community.
