The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the American Samoa Community College (ASCC) student's perception of college programs and services and the accomplishment of the college's mission statement, which provides quality instructional programs and student services for students.

This study attempted to elicit opinions from students who graduated from American Samoa Community College and had gone to pursue further education in the U.S.A.; those who had been employed by different agencies both public and private; and those who are still in school. Based on the statistical data collected from the instrument, the result of the study revealed that student expectations and college goals did not meet the satisfaction of the American Samoa Community College students. The convenient sample population included four groups: (1) Bachelor degree holders; (2) Associate degree holders; (3) AS & AA degree pursuers; and (4) developmental student population.

The rationale behind the study is to provide evidence that the American Samoa Community College instructional design and services support the mission statement through the student satisfactory survey. The results of this study will help the College review its goals, redesign a curriculum, and provide services that accomplishes its goals and objectives. It revealed how the ASCC students' responses compared with students' responses at the community colleges in the U.S.A. The writer found that academic advising has surfaced as one of the most predominant needs identified across the student demographic groupings at the American Samoa Community College. Data from 2-year institutions in the U.S.A., which used the same instrument for evaluation, indicated a similar concern by all students.
