While there is no single program or service that can solve an institution's retention concerns, there is evidence that academic advisement has one of the strongest links to student retention. Some research indicates academic advisement is the most important factor in student success and retention.

This EPP investigates opportunities to strengthen advisement at Delaware Tech by examining the current delivery of academic advisement services, evaluating the effectiveness of the current advisement services, and reviewing the advisement literature and programs at other institutions. The information gathered was used to propose an academic advisement model that improves student success and retention.
