Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a highly prevalent disorder in school-age children. ADHD is one of the main reasons that children are referred for behavior problems. Girls are referred for treatment of ADHD at a rate that is much lower than boys.

This paper examined current research regarding the presentation of girls with ADHD. An evidence based practice guideline was created to assist the practitioner in making the diagnosis of ADHD in girls.
