Thesis (M.A.)--Emporia State University, 2008.
This study analyzed and applied the theories and methodologies used in public history and the information transfer process in Wabaunsee County, Kansas. Information transfer theory consists of several functions: knowledge creation, dissemination, organization, diffusion, utilization, and preservation. These information transfer functions were analyzed in conjunction with public history methodologies used in Wabaunsee County. The Wabaunsee County Historical Museum in Alma, Kansas, was a major focal point of this analysis because it involved both public history and information transfer theories and methodologies. The combined usage of these two theories brings together two distinct fields, public history and library science. The goal was to combine these two conceptual theories and examine their interplay.
