提要:中元祭典是我國流傳已久的民間習俗歷經一百五十多年的「雞籠中元祭」為深具地方色彩與傳統文化意義的臺灣十二大節慶之一亦為國家指定之重要民俗文化資產該祭典自農曆七月一日起歷經老大公廟開龕門、普壇開燈放彩、迎斗燈繞境、放水燈、公私普渡、跳鍾馗等儀式至八月一日關龕門時間長達一個月。希藉此紀錄、呈現國家重要無形文化資產與民間俗信科儀促進文化資產之保存維護與教育、推廣。
