Conflict is inevitable and is evidenced in the Bible since the beginning of creation in the book of Genesis. Conflict can be viewed as positive or negative. Conflict in the church is not new; however, resolving the conflict can be challenging. The church should be prepared to handle conflict in such a way as to bring positive outcomes. Within prior literature, few studies examined the application of conflict resolution in the church. The purpose of this applied research study was to evaluate the effectiveness of a 9-hour conflict resolution training for equipping participants to understand conflict resolution strategies at a church in eastern Maryland. The results revealed that some of the participants grew knowledge and application of various topics as they related to their understanding of conflict and conflict resolution. Additionally, the training increased the participants' awareness of conflict resolution and peacemaking models that can equip them for future conflicts.
