The quantitative study examines the cultural dimensions and ethical leadership style preferences among technology industry managers in the United States. Utilizing Hofstede's culture dimensions detailed within the VSM 2013, and Northouse's Ethical Leadership Style Questionnaire (ELSQ) and generational cohorts derived from StraussHowe generational theory. This study measures the ethical leadership styles of managers belonging to the four eldest generational cohorts currently within the workforce: Traditionalists (1928-1945), Baby Boomers (1946-1964), Generation X (1965-1980), and Millennials (1981-1996). The theoretical framework that guides this study is founded upon a combination of ethical leadership studies, Strauss & Howe's generational theory, and Hofstede's cultural dimensions to create a comprehensive approach to understanding how ethical leadership styles are influenced by culture and generational membership to understand how different generations approach ethical situations and cultural dimensions that cultural influences to assist organizations and researchers in the development of generational teams and training programs existing in the evolving globalized environment. The findings of this study highlight the similarities among generations regarding primary and secondary ethical leadership styles and differences among generations concerning cultural dimensions such as individualism vs. collectivism (IDV) and indulgence vs. restraint (IVR). This research aims to contribute to the evolution and validation of the ELSQ as an instrument for leaders to approach ethical dilemmas, the field of ethical leadership, cultural diversity, and generational theory.
