Objective: The aim of this study is to compare the shear strength and color stability of the urethane dimethacrylate Crown & Bridge resin material (TC-80DP, Graphy) to the printed resin (C&B resin, Formlabs), and the milled PMMA discs (Telio Cad, Ivoclar Vivadent). Methods: Three groups of disc specimens (O4x14 mm) were designed using CAD software (AutoCAD Inventor). For shear, 13 samples each were manufactured from 3D printed resins by Formlabs and Graphy and also milled with Telio CAD (Ivoclar). The samples were embedded in FastTray PMMA resin (Keystone) and polished (Automet, Beuhler). Then, the samples were sandblasted with 50 microns Al2O3 at 2 bar pressure from a distance of 10 mm for 10 seconds. Specimens were cleaned with deionized water and dried. The specimens were bonded with a bonding agent (Monobond Plus, Ivoclar) and dual cure resin cement (Automix MultiLink; Ivoclar) was bonded to the surface of the specimens using a high-density polyethylene mold. The samples were thermocycled for 5000 cycles at 5 and 55°C (19) and were tested with a shear testing machine (Ultratester; Ultradent) with a crosshead speed of 1 mm/min. One-way ANOVA, followed by the Tukey HSD test was used to compare the impact of surface texture on the shear bond strength at a significance level of 0.05.For color stability, three groups of disc specimens (O1.2x14 mm) were designed using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor). Fifteen samples each were manufactured from 3D printed resins by Formlabs and Graphy and also milled with Telio CAD (Ivoclar). The samples were polished with 360, 600, and a final 1200 silicon carbide grit (Automet, Beuhler). Optical properties were assessed using a spectrophotometer (Konica Minolta) with guidance from ISO standard 7491. Measurements were taken using a bench top spectrophotometer (CM-26dg Portable Spectrophotometer; Konica Minolta) with CIE D65 standard illumination and 2° standard observer, against white and black tiles. Color was recorded with L*a*b* coordinates, describing each sample using three parameters: "L*" is the lightness, whereas "a*" is green~magenta with negative values toward green and positive values toward magenta and "b*" is blue~yellow with negative numbers toward blue and positive toward yellow. After the initial data was recorded, the samples were exposed to 5,000 cycles (5 and 55°C) of thermocycling and tested again. (19) The total change in color (ΔE00) was calculated from the CIEDE2000 coordinates as taken from ASTM D2244-16. Data was statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA, using a significance level of (α=0.05). Tukey's multiple comparisons test was also completed. Results: A one-way ANOVA with Tukey post-hoc test for shear strength and color stability was employed to analyze the data and evaluate the null hypotheses. In this in-vitro study, it was found that 3D CB printed resin (Formlabs) had the highest mean shear strength of 27.25 N after thermocycling. This was comparably higher than the mean after thermocycling for PMMA Telio CAD and C&B Resin (Graphy) of 10.86 N and 1.431 N, respectively. For color samples tested on the white background, the mean of the delta E values indicated a significant difference between Telio CAD and the Formlabs and Graphy specimens tested on the (p < 0.05), and no significant difference was observed between Formlabs and Graphy. Two of the Telio CAD samples showed that the color change was clinically perceptible. On the black calibration tiles, no significant difference was observed between any of the groups. All of the samples were within the threshold for clinical acceptability. Conclusion: Within the limitations of this in-vitro study, it was concluded that Formlabs group specimens exhibited the highest shear strength, followed by the Telio CAD group, with Graphy TC-80DP resin group having the lowest values. Regarding color stability, Telio CAD demonstrated the greatest color change compared with both the Graphy and Formlabs specimens for samples tested on the white background. No significant difference was observed between Formlabs and Graphy specimens on the white backgrounds. On the black calibration tile background, no significant difference in color was found between the three groups after thermocycling. Regarding color stability, within the limitations, it was displayed that all three of the materials tested did not show clinically perceptible color changes from thermocycling.
