We show that the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) has the capability of taking a leading role in the measurement of the Solar Neutrino Day/Night Asymmetry. We form the basis for this claim by developing a new model for predicting how the composition of the solar neutrino flux changes as it passes through the matter of Earth. The size of this effect in a DUNE-like detector is predicted and contrasted with predictions for a Super-Kamiokande-like detector. This new model incorporates the most up to date neutrino parameters and utilizes the state of the art Earth density model known as the Preliminary Earth Reference Model, or PREM. A second model of the effects of the matter of the Earth on the solar neutrino flux developed by Friedland et al. is also presented. We update this second model with the most up to date neutrino parameters as well as augment it to make it location dependent. This model is then also used to make a prediction of the Solar Neutrino Day/Night Asymmetry as seen by DUNE-like and Super-Kamiokande-like detectors. Using these two models we are able to show that for a charged current detection threshold in a DUNE-like detector of 5.00 MeV (which conservatively neglects the ability to detect de-excitation gammas) and a 3.49 MeV elastic scattering cross section detection threshold in a Super-Kamiokande-like detector, that the DUNE-like detector will see a day/night asymmetry that is 24-54% larger than that of the Super-Kamiokande-like detector. Additionally, we show that a DUNE-like detector will see an excess yearly nighttime event rate that is 21-47% larger than that of a Super-Kamiokande-like detector. Furthermore, we demonstrate that for a 10 MeV charged current threshold in a DUNE-like detector the day/night asymmetry will still be larger, but the event rate will be dramatically reduced, thereby demonstrating the importance of radiological background mitigations in the capability of a DUNE-like detector to serve as a solar neutrino experiment.
