Climate change is an escalating global challenge that is adversely affecting every corner of the planet, with coastal regions facing severe consequences. This research delved into the repercussions of climate change; focusing on the wealthiest region of the Palm Beach Coast in Florida, where multi-million-dollar single-family homes stand as potential victims of the impending environmental global climate change. For example, former President Donald Trump's mansion, Mar-a-Lago is located on this island. The study contributed to a comprehensive understanding of the issue, raises awareness, and advocates for the adoption of innovative building techniques to mitigate the impact on residential structures from flood damage due to adverse weather conditions. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicts sea level along the U.S. coastline is expected to increase by an average of 10-12 inches in the next 30 years (2020-2050). This projected rise is comparable to the sea level increase observed over the past century (1920-2020). The investigation involved the collection and analysis of data related to temperature trends, sea-level rise, storm patterns, and other relevant climatic factors. Furthermore, the research explored the role of different building techniques in adapting to and mitigating the impact of climate change on single-family homes. As the study area represents a high-income community, the findings aim to contribute insights into strategies that can be implemented in coastal regions globally.
