This paper explores how an art therapist researcher and museum staff collaborated to develop a museum-based community curatorial art therapy program for older adult women. Using ideas and models from Stephens' (2011) Feminist Systems Theory and Love & Villeneuve's (2017) Adapted Model for Collaborative Visitor-Centered Exhibition Development, an art therapist researcher created a community curatorial program for older adult women to explore their lived experiences, create reflective artwork, curate art from a museum's permanent collection, and create an exhibition exploring themes related to their aging experiences as women. The researcher utilized a participatory action research approach in efforts to address how older women may experience marginalization as well as how art museums and art therapists can collaborate and initiate social change by amplifying older women's experiences through museum-based community art therapy community curatorial programs and exhibitions. Using a qualitative approach for data collection, the researcher identified key themes from the participants' experiences and created an integrated model for museum staff and art therapists to use to create museum-based community curatorial art therapy programs in their own communities.
