Obedience is a biblical topic believers commonly misunderstand. Whom should one obey? Why should one obey? What does obedience require? Through this project, the project director sought to equip select members of Baptist Chapel Church, Autryville, North Carolina, to increase their understanding of biblical obedience. He conducted biblical and theological research related to obeying God's commands. The project director conducted a literary review of relevant resources with the Scriptures as the foundation of that research. These efforts, alongside insight from experts in the field, assisted the project director to determine how to best consolidate the biblical material to fit a six-week teaching module.The equipping module formed the crux of the ministry project. Utilizing the equipping module, the project director taught members at Baptist Chapel from four primary passages in Scripture outlining obedience to God. The project director taught the module on Wednesday evenings during normally scheduled gathering times to ensure maximum participation and results.The project director used a pre- and post-test tool to gauge the effectiveness of the equipping module. Based on the results of the testing tool, the project director determined the module successful, in that participants showed an increased understanding of obedience at the close of the module than from the beginning. The post-test results, along with further reflection on the module sessions, supplied necessary steps to ensure increased effectiveness in future iterations.
