This dissertation investigates the historical evidence for Jesus's resurrection, its significance in mission theology, and its implications for evangelism. It specifically examines the growth and beliefs of religious nones (those with no religious affiliation) in North Texas since 2007. The study aims to determine the missiological meaning of the resurrection for BMA Baptist churches in Texas and develop a missiological paradigm based on the power of the resurrection to engage non-religious individuals in North Texas. While significant research exists for the historical evidence for Jesus's resurrection and the growing trend of religious nones, no single study has directly addressed how the resurrection's significance can be applied to effectively engage religious nones in North Texas, specifically within the context of BMA Baptist churches. This study aims to bridge this gap by examining the historical basis for the resurrection, outlining the characteristics of religious nones in North Texas, and explaining the missiological significance of the resurrection for BMA Baptist churches in the region, which culminates in a framework for evangelism among religious nones in North Texas. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining historical-theological analysis and a qualitative case study. The historical-theological component involves examining primary sources and scholarly literature on the historicity of the resurrection and its place in mission theology. The qualitative case study focuses on BMA Baptists in Texas, gathering data through interviews and observations to understand their perspective on the resurrection and its implications for mission. By combining these methods, this study aims to answer the central research question of how the missiological meaning of the resurrection can be applied to engaging religious nones in North Texas.Based on the survey of 116 BMA Baptists in Texas, several of the key findings resulted in these individuals revealing a strong belief in the historical nature of Jesus's resurrection and the universal responsibility of Christians to engage in mission. Participants reported active involvement in local mission engagement and a commitment to discipleship. They acknowledged the rise of the religious nones and attributed it to a lack of discipleship and outreach within churches. To effectively reach religious nones in North Texas with the gospel, participants suggested increased preaching and teaching on the historical resurrection, fostering a missional mindset in the churches, and employing an apologetics-based outreach strategy.
