This dissertation argues that the best way to understand exposure metaphors in the Hebrew Prophets is to interpret them in light of their covenant context. It begins by examining how some feminist scholars approach and interpret these metaphors, and then it outlines the covenantal context of these metaphors. It proceeds to detail the literary, historical, and covenantal contexts of six exposure metaphors in the Hebrew Prophets, while interacting with the works and conclusions of feminist scholars. It concludes by summarizing feminist scholars' concerns and approaches and by detailing the covenantal context of each exposure metaphor in the Hebrew Prophets.
