The problem addressed in this study is the potential predictive link between emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and transformational leadership in law enforcement management, specifically within southwest Florida, has not been established (Hoggett et al., 2018; Schafer, 2009). The purpose of this quantitative predictive correlational study was to explore the potential predictive link between emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and transformational leadership in law enforcement management, specifically within southwest Florida. The central research question was: What is the potential predictive link between emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and transformational leadership in law enforcement management, specifically within southwest Florida? The study employed a quantitative predictive correlational research design, focusing on objective measurement and statistical analysis. It was also grounded in a post-positivist worldview, a belief that the variables were measurable constructs, and guided using validated instruments to collect data from 82 law enforcement managers. A multiple linear regression model was applied to assess the data and uncover predictive relationships. The analysis revealed that emotional intelligence and self-efficacy were significant predictors of transformational leadership. These results emphasize the need to develop emotional intelligence and self-efficacy in training programs to promote transformational leadership behaviors and enhance managerial effectiveness within law enforcement. This study added to the limited body of research on leadership in law enforcement by offering practical insights into the impact of psychological competencies on effective leadership. It also provides a basis for future research to examine the influence of emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and transformational leadership across various leadership settings.
