Teachers are responsible for serving and educating a largely diverse population of students that is continuously growing and changing. Teachers that are trained with the skills, knowledge, and attitudes about sexually diverse students are able to serve and support LGBTQ+ students as well as educate all students on the impacts of their own behaviors towards diverse students. To do this, teachers should have access to training programs that provide them with the knowledge and skills to work with diverse students. The purpose of the study is to discuss the results of an expert-reviewed analysis of a teacher-focused training on LGBTQ+ issues with the goal to increase perceived skills, attitudes, and knowledge of teachers. The results of the expert review suggest a positive impact from a knowledge- and skill-based training on how to provide support to LGBTQ+ students in an academic setting.
