1. Across the globe we see a change in pattern of consumption of health food brands and there has been a shift in perception of consumers towards health food products. Post pandemic consumers have become even more health conscious and are increasingly looking for ways to shift to a better lifestyle. "There has been a paradigm shift in consumers' preferences in the food landscape".( Times of India, 2022). Data from the Global health and wellness food market report 2020-24, The rate of growth of the health and wellness market will be at a 6% CAGR and the size of the health and wellness food market will be US$ 235.94.2. The Indian consumer is willing to spend on health more than more and in addition to that they are also looking for consuming organic foods, health and vitamin supplements, and following specialized diet plans. "Packaged and processed health food has taken the front space as it's coming up as a promising vertical. Indian urban affluent consumers are increasingly getting interested in diverse variety of packaged health foods, claiming health benefits and are buying anything and everything that is labeled as healthy."( Varuna Rao1 , Dr. Kasturi Sen Ray, 2018)3. The role of healthy eating within Indian consumers has become very important . Consumers are looking for healthy alternatives which help them to substitute food items like chips and kurkure with nutrition rich food options.. Meanwhile we have also seen the rise of many homegrown brands like Yogabar, Soulfull,Snackible in the health food segment which include healthy snacking options, juices, nutritional supplements, health bars etc. Big FMCG companies HUL, ITC have also started moving towards healthier alternatives by launching a range of baked chips. With the new trend and change in consumption patterns health food brands are keep on increasing their market penetration .The global market for health foods and the wellness market is growing .Consumers these days are actively seeking health foods and there has been a shift in the consumer consumption pattern and how they are consuming food. A variety of external factors like increase in the buying power of consumers, more access to information, penetration of technology and influencer of global cultures along with the pandemic have a role to play in this trend.4. Growing interest in health and wellness: With a growing awareness of the importance of health and wellness, more and more people are turning to healthier food options. Understanding consumer behavior in this context can help food companies to tailor their marketing and branding strategies to better meet consumer needs and preferences.5. Increasing competition in the health food market: As more companies begin to offer healthy food options, competition in the market is becoming increasingly fierce. Analyzing consumer behavior can help companies to differentiate themselves from their competitors and identify areas where they can stand out in the market.6. Changing attitudes toward food: As consumers become more health-conscious, their attitudes toward food are also changing. For example, consumers are increasingly interested in the quality and sourcing of the ingredients in their food, as well as the environmental impact of food production. Understanding these changing attitudes can help companies to create more effective marketing messages that resonate with consumers.7. Evolving consumer preferences: Consumer preferences are constantly evolving, and it's important for food companies to keep up with these changes. Analyzing consumer behavior can help companies to identify emerging trends and preferences in the market, and adjust their strategies accordingly.
