This study examines national and international coach credentialing programs in baseball, basketball, and soccer through the framework of the National Standards for Sport Coaches (NSSC) Core Responsibilities. Using a content analysis methodology, 112 credentialing programs were evaluated for structure, pedagogical approaches, and alignment with the NSSC standards. Findings indicate a predominant reliance on online and hybrid learning models, with limited use of experiential or competency-based education. The most commonly addressed coaching standard was conducting practices and preparing for competition (95%), while continuous improvement (10%) was the least represented. These results highlight gaps in mentorship, ethical training, and professional development, suggesting that many credentialing programs prioritize technical skills over holistic coaching competencies. This study underscores the need for credentialing programs to integrate mentorship, experiential learning, and ethical training to better prepare coaches for the evolving demands of modern sports. Findings provide insights for policymakers, educators, and organizations aiming to enhance coach education standards.
