Invasive plants pose ecological and economic threats, particularly in the western United States, where they impact agriculture and rangelands. Early Detection and Rapid Response (EDRR) is a management strategy that seeks to minimize these impacts by identifying and responding to these species before they become widespread. However, EDRR efforts are often hindered by delayed detection and gaps in public engagement. My thesis endeavors to empower EDRR capacity in Wyoming by creating two tools to support early detection.I created a model to predict where new invasive plants are most likely to be detected by examining the relationships between first records and key infrastructural factors driving introductions. This model, projected as a map of Wyoming, has the potential to enhance EDRR through targeted surveillance of high-priority areas and features.I developed a digital dashboard that centralizes information on non-native plants to increase public awareness and participation in invasive species monitoring. Within it, users can interact with more than 69,550 records of non-native species I compiled, get to know 51 noxious weeds of concern, and learn about how to get involved in reporting.
