With the emergence of the Internet, a vast "virtual world" was created, offering services and facilities that sometimes surpass those in the real world. The Metaverse encompasses various fields, including the economy, social networking, entertainment, work, education, tourism, architecture, and fashion. In this virtual realm, designers aim to create captivating and harmonious experiences that bring tangible benefits to their audiences, especially when digital environments affect mental states and social well-being.By reviewing studies and research conducted so far on the Metaverse and the quality of its spaces, a gap was identified: no comprehensive studies have been conducted on the quality of designed spaces in the Metaverse, whether retail spaces or gaming environments. This gap highlights the need for studying the quality of these spaces, which leads to an even more fundamental question-the importance and necessity of the architect's role in designing these virtual environments. In this thesis, 40 articles related to architecture in the Metaverse, fashion in the Metaverse, and the architecture of luxury brands in the Metaverse were reviewed and categorized. It further identifies areas where no studies have been conducted. Additionally, by examining the characteristics of virtual stores for five luxury brands, the differences in elements and design approaches between virtual stores and their physical counterparts are highlighted, emphasizing the importance of design and the architect's role in the effectiveness of these spaces. This thesis investigates the intersections between architecture and fashion in the Metaverse, particularly in luxury brand boutiques and games, comparing these digital spaces with physical luxury boutiques. The thesis argues that aligning architectural expertise with the skills of virtual environment designers allows luxury brands to create spaces that resonate deeply with their audiences, preserving the distinct impact of the brand in both physical and digital contexts. The thesis focuses on key themes: the integration of advanced technology, digital identity through virtual fashion, innovative marketing strategies, social considerations, and immersive experiences. Despite the growing presence of luxury brands, there is limited research on the architectural quality and user experience of virtual retail spaces. This thesis identifies existing gaps and suggests that future studies focus on consumer engagement, brand impact, and spatial design, along with qualitative analysis by architects, to enhance the depth and meaning of virtual experiences.
