The research problem this study addressed is the negative impact of ineffective communication among stakeholders in the building environment on productivity and safety (Cong et al., 2022). The industry is facing challenges due to the influx of migrant workers, which has strengthened the language barrier and led to health and safety issues. The study also highlighted the importance of safety communication in high-risk work contexts. The purpose of this qualitative study aimed to examine the causes of injuries, health and safety issues, and support for non-English speakers in the construction industry. The research is narrative in nature, involving in-depth interviews and environmental observations (Shepherd et al., 2021). The constructs studied include quality of life, personal safety anxiety, and workforce satisfaction. Poor communication skills may have led to project stagnation, jeopardizing timeliness and cost, and triggering shareholder disagreements. The study leveled to provide insights into the role of safety communication in high-risk work contexts and explore potential interventions to improve safety communication.
