Biomolecular condensates are membraneless compartments within living cells that play crucial roles in organizing cellular processes. Understanding their formation, function, and regulation has significant implications for elucidating biological processes and developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's. These condensates are widely believed to form through liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS), driven by attractive molecular interactions. Predicting the phase behavior of biomolecular systems from these interactions remains a major challenge due to their inherent complexity. To address this, we introduced minimal models that capture essential features of biomolecular interactions. We developed simulation techniques and theoretical approaches to analyze these models. Our findings provide insights into the physical principles that govern phase separation, with potential applicability across a broad range of biomolecular systems.
