Motivated abilities, a recognizable phenomenon proposed by certain vocational coaching practitioners, offers theological anthropology much promise both as a new frontier of reflection and as a warning against an unintentional drift from fully honoring human dignity. The concept, that a unique satisfaction and flourishing exists at the intersection of an individual's drives and strengths, surfaces an uncomfortable tension between Conservative Protestant theology and inherently positive contributions humans make even in the midst of a fallen and depraved world. This tradition has not been unaware of the strain but has yet to provide an appropriate systematic mooring to relieve the pressure-common grace and the image of God being the most common options. This study proposes a new anthropological category entitled "fruit of existence," which could provide motivated abilities and similar human traits a nuanced refuge when their inherence and positive contribution are established through the suggested methodology. This is done in hope that a new classification strengthens the current limitation highlighted by motivated abilities, provides a systematic home for a variety of inherent positive traits, and could even bring some clarity in the historically complex imago Dei conversations.
