This thesis examines the pivotal role of baseball in the assimilation of immigrant communities into American society. Through a historical and sociological lens, it explores how America's national pastime has served as both a symbol of American identity and a vehicle for cultural integration. Drawing on the Interactionist Theory and a multidisciplinary literature review, the study analyzes three waves of immigrants-Italian, Cuban, and Japanese-to reveal how participation in and association with baseball facilitated a sense of belonging, identity formation, and social acceptance. By highlighting the sport's cultural, emotional, and symbolic power, the project challenges traditional narratives of assimilation and underscores the importance of sport in shaping American identity. Ultimately, it positions baseball as a dynamic space for negotiating immigrant experiences and bridging cultural divides in the ongoing story of America.
