In this dissertation, we consider two topics in complex manifolds. The first one is to study complex Hessian equations. We develop a general regularization technique of I-subharmonic function by sup convolution. Then, we study the uniqueness and existence of viscosity solution to general complex Hessian equations on any compact Hermitian manifolds. We also prove a Holder estimate for general complex Hessian equations on Kahler manifolds with nonnegative holomorphic bisectional curvature. The second one is to study Poincare type extremal Kahler metrics. We prove that the Poincare type extremal Kahler metric is unique up to a holomorphic transformation if we assume that the singularity set of the metric is a smooth divisor which doesn't admit nontrivial holomorphic vector fields.
